Jerry Wayne Carroll Sr.

Jerry Wayne Carroll Sr., age 79, of Palestine, died Friday, September 25, 2026, at the St. Francis Hospital
in Memphis. He had been in the hospital for the past week.
Mr. Carroll was born May 19, 1947, in Gill, Arkansas, and was the son of Robert L. Carroll and Virginia
Freeland Carroll Cothran. He lived in St. Francis County most all of his life, was a retired Farmer, and
was a Veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of the American Legion, the Arkansas
Cattleman’s Association, and was a member of the Oak Hill Church of God.
Mr. Carroll married Martha L. Tucker in 1965, and she survives him along with one son, Jerry Wayne
‘Bubba’ Carrol Jr., of Forrest City, one daughter, Audraa Renai Carter, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, and five
grandchildren; Matthew, Tulley, Aida, Sterling, and Acadia.
Services will be held at the Oak Hill Church of God, 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, with burial in Hopewell
Cemetery in Gill, Arkansas. Visitation will be Monday evening, 5:00 till 7:00 P.M., at Stevens Funeral
